Chengdu GUTE Machinery Co., Ltd., in collaboration with China Construction Third Engineering Bureau (CCTEB), has officially commissioned its first-generation fully automated welding production line for box girder bottom-web skeletons. Developed, designed and manufactured by GUTE Machinery, the line has completed commissioning and entered full production at Contract Section 3 of the Huangpi–Xinzhou section of the Wuhan Metropolitan Area Ring Expressway.
Full-Process Automation with 100% Standardization
The line automates the entire workflow - longitudinal rebar feeding, intelligent placement, high-precision welding and finished-product unloading - achieving a 100% standardization rate. Every bottom-web skeleton produced is highly consistent in dimensional accuracy and structural geometry, fully compliant with design specifications and engineering requirements. As the world's first production line capable of accommodating both standard box girder skeleton surfaces and complex variable cross-sections, it adapts flexibly to a wide range of construction scenarios.
Intelligent Welding System
Equipped with a laser-scanning vision recognition and tracking system, the line delivers high-precision, fully automated welding of longitudinal bars and stirrups, ensuring firm and reliable connections. An intelligent placement system accurately positions and aligns stirrups and longitudinal bars, laying a solid foundation for welding quality. Welding points can be flexibly configured, and full-seam, intermittent (skip) and spot welding modes can be freely switched to maximize production flexibility.
Clear Advantages over Traditional Manual Operation
The production line requires only two operators, significantly reducing labor costs and physical intensity while minimizing safety hazards. Full-process digital monitoring replaces manual record-keeping with complete data traceability, and the intelligent system effectively reduces human error, ensuring standardized skeleton forming and improving product precision and production efficiency. Thanks to the consistently high standard of finished bottom-web skeletons, the line's output has gained strong recognition from customers, positioning it as a premium choice for project construction and laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
